Lap Splice Breakaway Hardware ensures sign posts break off in the event of vehicle impact.
For use with U-Channel posts and bases, the RIB-BAK breakaway system with Lap Splice Break Away Hardawre ensures that the sign posts break off if they're run over by vehicles. The Lap Slice Breakaway System is both FHWA and ASHTO approved. Silver Hardware is used with 2 lbs/ft - 2.5 lbs/ft U-Channel posts. Gold Hardware is used with 3 lbs/ft - 4 lbs/ft U-Channel posts.
