How to Measure the Surface Area of a Traffic Sign

Multiply the width (in inches) by the height (in inches) and then divide by 144 (12" x 12" = 144" - or one square foot)

• A 12" x 18" sign covers 1.5 square feet
• A 48" x 48" sign covers 16 square feet
